Iranian hostage in Pakistan released

An Iranian national who had been taken hostage in Pakistan for about one and a half year has been freed, a police official announced on Sunday.

 

(IRNA) -- 'Cooperation between the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and Iran's Police led to freeing the hostage,' Colonel Mohammad Rostami, Police Chief of Minab in the southern Iranian province of Hormuzgan told reporters.
 
The hostage, Ayyoub Makkizadeh, was delivered to the country's Police in the Pakistani border, Colonel Rostami added.
 
According to him, three people in Minab have been arrested on charges of kidnapping Makkizadeh in Pakistan.
