Senior representative of Hezbollah office in Tehran said that the US is playing its last hand in West Asia following the repeated defeats of Saudi and Israeli plots in the region.

(MNA) -- Wissam Khalil, senior representative of Hezbollah office in Tehran, made the remarks during a political session on the latest developments in the region on Monday.

Discussing the resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, he said “the imprudent Saudi rulers have been trying to create tension, conflict and internal sedition in Lebanon, with an intention to engage Lebanese forces in domestic disputes and to prepare the ground for another Israeli invasion and to strike a devastating blow to Lebanon's Hezbollah.”

Khalil also hailed the timely and wise position of Lebanese president and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah as the reason for the creation of more unity among the Lebanese nation and the foiling of the Saudi plot.

He maintained that the US used to advance its objectives in West Asia by relying on four key players in the region, including Iran under Pahlavi rule, Saudi Arabia, Israeli regime and Turkey, and added, “today, the US’ business in the West Asian region is almost over, and Washington is making a gradual retreat due to the constant and powerful presence of the Resistance Front, and the weakening of its previous allies.”
