PressTV-- “With support from Russian aviation, government forces entered Mayadin and took control of several buildings in the western flank of the town,” – located about 44 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital city of Dayr al-Zawr, Rami Abdel Rahman, the head of the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), said on Friday.
The development came shortly after Syria’s official news agency reported that Syrian government forces and their allies had carried out major offensives against Daesh Takfiris across Dayr al-Zawr Province, inflicting heavy losses on the militants’ ranks and military hardware.
Syrian army units destroyed an arms depot, a communications headquarters, a command center and several vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns in the town of Mayadin.
With support from Syrian Air Force fighter jets, government troops pounded the positions of Daesh terrorists in the towns of Mayadin, al-Muhasan, al-Boleel, al-Hussainiyah, al-Junaynah, al-Tayyebah and Saker Island in addition to Sheikh Yassin, al-Jubailah and al-Rashidiyah neighborhoods.
‘Daesh militants driven out of 91% of Syrian territory’

The Russian-language Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper published an infographic on Friday, which showed that 91.6 percent of the Syrian soil is now free from the presence of Daesh Takfiris.
