Iraqi Police Forces Storm ISIS Positions South of Mosul

Iraq's federal police commander, General Raed Shakir Jawdat confirmed that his forces continue to target ISIS defenses South of Mosul, in preparation to start a new round of military operation against the terror group in the Northern city.

“The federal police forces have killed four terrorists and destroyed armed vehicle equipped with heavy machine guns in al-Intisar neighborhood on the left side of Mosul,” Jawdat said in a statement on Tuesday, Badr News reported.

“The federal police forces have destroyed a defense post used by ISIL terrorists near al-Akrab intersection and killed four of them,” the commander said.

On October 17th, 2016, the Iraqi Army and its allied forces launched a major battle for Mosul to liberate the city and its surroundings from ISIS, FNA reported.
