1st Lieutenant Suleiman Badr was injured defending the Aleppo Infantry School, which was later taken over by rebel forces on December 16, 2012.

Badr, originally from the southern province of Daraa, was captured by the militants and transported to eastern Aleppo; the districts which until recently served as the insurgents stronghold in the northern city.

A local source said that Badr was handed over to the Syrian Army in Al-Ameriyah neighborhood.

The release comes as an agreement was finally put into effect whereby militants are evacuated to Idlib province after releasing all detainees; civilians and military, AMN reported.
