The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was brought down after it was intercepted over the strategic region of Qaviya in Jizan province.

Local security sources said that the Saudi drone was on a surveillance mission, taking images of the Yemeni Army and Ansarullah’s facilities.

The Yemeni army's artillery units also hit the Saudi military positions in al-Kers, al-Dokhan and al-Mohlahemeh regions, inflicting heavy losses on the Saudi army troops and military equipment.

Yemeni Army and Ansarullah fighters have shot down several Saudi-owned UAVs across the country since the beginning of the Saudi-led invasion against the impoverished country.

In mid-October, the Yemeni military forces also reported they had shot down a spy drone over Jizan province.

In late September, the Yemeni military forces also reported they shot down a spy drone over the country’s capital, Sanaa, FNA reported.
