Some 250,000 people are trapped in Eastern Aleppo, an area with a high risk of bombing, Save the Children charity said in the report published on Tuesday, Sputnik reported.
The report emerged hours after the Russian Defense Ministry said Syrian government forces have liberated territory of Eastern Aleppo where 90,000 people live, tens of thousands of them children.
The civilians live in poor conditions, while families are often separated, losing contact. “With so many people trapped in an ever-shrinking space, children can be little more than sitting targets for bombs … We are hearing that things are so bad that many families fear they will not live through the night,” Save the Children's Syria Director Sonia Khush said, as quoted in the press release.
The Russian reconciliation center continues the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Eastern districts of Aleppo liberated from militants.
The situation in Aleppo has been seriously deteriorating over the recent months. Thousands of citizens are believed to be trapped in the terrorist-besieged Eastern parts of Aleppo with no access to food or water. There have been several attempts to establish a ceasefire, however the bids have failed, FNA reported.
