Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan said Wednesday that they would ask Greece, Croatia, Cyprus and possibly Turkey to send firefighting aircraft overnight to help Israeli crews subdue brush fires that continue to rage around the occupied territories.

On Thursday, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan told Army Radio that fifty percent of these fires were caused by repeated arson.

Erdan was due to meet with the pilots who came from Greece overnight to assist in fighting the fire.

Occupation police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said multiple investigations have been opened to determine if the fires were triggered by weather conditions or “foul play”.

Haifa Evacuates Settlers as Bushfires Approach Residential Areas

Thousands of Zionist settlers were forced on Thursday to leave their residents on the outskirts of the entity’s third city Haifa as firefighters struggled to control raging bushfires, occupation police said.

“Thousands of people have been evacuated due to large fires that began in a number of neighborhoods,” police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said, added that no injuries have been reported so far.

However, Zionist media accused the Palestinians of being responsible for Haifa fires, according to Al-Manar reporter who added that the Israeli outlets described the incineration as “Fire Intifada”.

In the latest developments, the Zionist authorities closed Ben Gurion Airport and Haifa port and evacuate Damon and Carmiel prisons due to the fire.

Earlier, around 50 thousands of Zionist settlers were evacuated as bushfires neared the residential areas in the occupied Haifa.

The incident exposed clearly that the entity failed to address the fire challenge despite its consecutive drills aimed to prepare the Zionists to face wars, Al-Manar reported.
