In relevant developments in the province on Thursday, the Syrian army repelled a massive attack of the terrorists to break the siege of the town of Khan al-Sheih in Southwestern Damascus; FNA reported.
The terrorist groups attacked the Syrian army's military bases from several flanks in Khan al-Sheih, but they were forced by the army to retreat after fierce clashes with the government troops and sustaining a large number of casualties.
The Syrian army's military positions in Darousha-al-Salam-al-Boizeh regions came under attack by hundreds of terrorists, but the government forces pushed back invading militants after killing at least 25 and injuring many others. The remaining pockets retreated back to Khan al-Sheih.
The Syrian fighter jets also heavily pounded the headquarters of the Takfiri terrorists in Khan al-Sheih and managed to destroy one of their main military bases there.
