As soon as they arrived in Kirkuk, 9 year old Ahmed was rushed to hospital.

Under ISIS rule, both of Ahmed’s hands were amputated after an electric fire incident.

“He was hit by electrocution fire. This is how he looks like now. We fled Hawija with many other families,” said Ahmed’s father.

Ahmed was a student before ISIS captured Hawija. He dreamed of returning to school when ISIS was gone.

Now, instead of school, he wants his hands back.

“I want my hands back. I call on international organizations to bring back my hands. I want to play with my friends like before,” Ahmed sighed.

Physicians from Azadi Hospital in Kirkuk are more concerned about his worsening wounds.

Doctors said when he arrived in the hospital his worsening wound was threatening his life.

Many who flee ISIS and reach Kirkuk need as much medicine as food, Rudaw reported.
