The Defense Ministry of Iraq released a statement revealing the Iraqi security forces had confiscated some fake military vehicles in the village of Sada in northern Mosul.

The vehicles were made from wood and designed to look like Humvees and tanks for the purpose of deceiving the coalition warplanes which were monitoring the area.

ISIS aimed to falsely show the coalition warplanes they still had strong military equipment by creating these fake vehicles,” said an Iraqi Commander in the village.

“These fake vehicles show how weak the group has become,” the Iraqi Commander added.

In another statement, the Ministry announced the forces had killed Khalid Mitiuti, responsible for ISIS’ war affairs, in the neighborhood of Intisar in eastern Mosul, Kurdistan24 Reports.

Mitiuti had replaced Mohanad Hamid, known as Abu Ayisha, who was also killed by Iraqi security forces earlier.

Moreover, the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) counter-terrorism forces released the names of 50 ISIS terrorists and senior leaders that were killed by them in the military operation of liberating Bashiqa town, northern Mosul on Nov. 7.

Iraqi and Peshmerga forces continue to advance toward the center of Mosul, the stronghold of ISIS that has been under the control of the extremist group since June 2014.
