Iraqi Police forces have found mass grave site, bodies in the background in Hamam Alil in Mosul.

As the Iraq military consolidates its gains on the southern approach to the Islamic State (Daesh/ISIL/ISIS/IS) group-held city of Mosul, Iraqi forces are uncovering evidence of IS brutality in the recently reclaimed territory. AP reported.

In the town of Hamam al-Alil, retaken from IS earlier this month, Iraqi fighters have uncovered a site believed to be a mass grave. Iraqi Police Captain Hussin Abd Alkerim Ali says police collaborators were taken to the site to be tortured or killed.

He said many bodies at the site had their hands bound. Residents who remained inside the town during IS rule backed up that theory, saying IS fighters first imprisoned men they believed to be working with Iraqi security forces and then executed them at the site on the outskirts of the town.
