Army units, operating in the west of Damascus Countryside, achieved new progress in their war against Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in the axis of Khan al-Sheeh area.

A military source told SANA that army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, carried out intensive operations against the dens of terrorists inside Khan al-Sheeh town, inflicting heavy losses upon Jabhat al-Nusra.

The source added that army units due to the operations established control over new areas in the town and continued chasing terrorists who take citizens’ houses as dens.

SANA reporter said that the clashes between army units and terrorists of al-Nusra are continued in a number of axes in the area where a state of collapse in the terrorists’ ranks is prevailed.

He added that an army unit destroyed a tank for Jabhat al-Nusra and a number of armored vehicles in the area surrounding the town.
