The Syrian government announced that it will guarantee safe passage of those militants who want to be transferred from Eastern Aleppo to other regions, adding that they can even have their light arms in their exit.

According to SANA news agency, the Syrian government also said that it is ready to evacuate and treat the wounded militants outside Eastern Aleppo.

Damascus has said that its goal is returning the people in Eastern Aleppo to normal life so that the government bodies and organizations can render service to those citizens who are willing to remain in the region.

It is the second time Damascus offers an opportunity to the terrorists to leave the town.

After the first offer, UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura announced his personal willingness to accompany fighters with Al-Qaeda-affiliated Al Nursa Front (which recently changed its name to Fatah al-Sham Front) out of Aleppo if they would also allow civilians the freedom to evacuate the city and escape harm's way.

Unlike the United States, Russia has welcomed Mistura's proposal. Moscow has even welcomed his proposal to grant amnesty to rebel fighters and their families willing to leave the city. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says he would press the Syrian government to let opposition fighters leave the city under the terms outlined.

But the Nusra terrorists rejected the proposal outright, while the Qatari and Saudi media voiced support for their stance. The US has kept silent over the proposal.

The Syrian Army General Command announced on Wednesday that it will reduce airstrikes and shelling attacks on Eastern Aleppo to allow civilians to leave the city's besieged areas still controlled by militants groups.

"The command of the army made a decision to reduce the number of aerial and artillery strikes against terrorists' positions to help the civilians trapped in the city to leave for safer regions," the Syrian Army's statement said.

Aleppo has seen intense fighting over the past few months, with the Syrian army and popular forces managing to encircle large groups of militants in the Eastern districts of the city.

The Syrian army also said in order to prevent bloodshed and avoid more destruction, it gives militants in Aleppo’s Eastern neighborhoods an additional opportunity to benefit from amnesty decree and settle their status, or hand over their weapons and leave with their families.

The General command added in the statement that “We call on all gunmen in the Eastern neighborhoods not to wait for any assistance from any one as all supplying routes became cut off and there is no chance for them, but handing over their weapons;” FNA reported.
