According to the ISIS affiliated Amaq Agency, most of the casualties were inflicted by mines placed in and around Jakkah and Talghar, two villages near the Turkish border with Syria.
Nevertheless, Turkish-backed FSA groups - heavily assisted by squadrons of Turkish tanks - have seized around 80 villages from ISIS and the Kurdish YPG since Operation Euphrates Shield was initiated on August 24, less than a month ago.
Yesterday rebels have captured six villages (Tall Shair, Qarah kuz, Tall Ar, Talar Gharbi, Talar Sharqi and Jakkah) from ISIS. Meanwhile, a FSA commander said Syrian rebels had destroyed an ISIS suicide vehicle near Talaar Sharqi, west of Al Rai.
On the other hand, an ISIS anti-tank crew destroyed a Turkish tank during the battle for Jakkah and killed Abdel Karim 'Aleeto, commander of the FSA's 13th Division.
