Libyan authorities have arrested more than 200 African migrants in the past three days who they claimed were preparing to make the risky sea crossing to Europe.
Early Wednesday morning Misrata Southern Security Force arrested 145 men and 29 women who authorities say had planned the journey to Europe.
Seventy-two hours earlier, 27 others were taken into custody after security services were tipped off.
A total of 201 migrants were transferred to detention centers on Wednesday.
Authorities say they’ve been making arrests every two or three days.
