The ISIL terrorists tried to open their way into al-Jafreh village by repeated attacks on army positions near the village, but they had to retreat after facing the tough reaction counterattacks of the army.
Meantime, the Syrian army pounded the terrorists' military positions in al-Baqaliyeh in the Western countryside of Deir Ezzur city and Panorama in the Southwestern countryside of the city.
The Syrian air force also destroyed the military positions and vehicles of the ISIL in al-Sina'ah neighborhood of Deir Ezzur city, killing many of them.
In a relevant development on Monday, the Syrian army launched a surprise attack on a group of terrorists in the Southwestern part of Deir Ezzur, killing a number of terrorists.
The ISIL's hideout near Panorama to Southwest of Deir Ezzur city came under the Syrian army offensives, killing all terrorists inside the hideout.
"The Syrian army's precise planning did not give the ISIL terrorists any chance to escape their positions," an army officer said.
Also on Sunday, the Syrian army repelled ISIL's offensives on government forces' positions in the Southern and Eastern sides of Deir Ezzur airport and did not allow the terrorists to advance in the region.
Syrian Army troops, backed up by the Russian and Syrian warplanes, beat ISIL back from surroundings of Deir Ezzur airbase, inflicting a heavy death toll on the militants.
ISIL also stormed Syrian soldiers' strongholds near al-Thardah mountain by several bomb-laden suicide vehicles, but the Syrian army men targeted them by thermo missiles.
In the meantime, the Syrian army and ISIL hit each other with heavy weapons in al-Thardah 1, 2 and 3, ending in withdrawal of ISIL terrorists from the region.
ISIL also failed to break through government positions in al-Jafreh district in Northeastern side of air port.
Russian and Syrian fighter jets played a crucial role in ISIL's failures in Deir Ezzur battlefields.
ISIL centers in al-Kanamat, al-Sina'ah, al-Roshdiyeh, Takaya, al-Mura'yeh, Huwijeh, Saker, al-Baqaliyeh were badly bombed by the Syrian and Russian fighter jets.
