800 Civilians Fleeing Daesh From South of Mosul, “Mosul Will Liberate Soon”

Kurdish Peshmerga forces announced that hundreds of Iraqi civilians have fled from the ISIL (Islamic State, ISIS, ISIL, Daesh and IS) terrorist group in Southern Mosul. "At least 800 civilians have escaped from Al Makhmur region to the South of Mosul," the Arabic-language media outlets quoted an unnamed Kurdish Peshmerga officer as saying on Thursday.

Most of the civilians fleeing the ISIL comprised of women, old people and children.The officer noted that the civilians are fleeing the ISIL-controlled regions every day.

Meantime, the governor of Iraq’s Salahuddin province said the Mosul liberating operation of will begin in a very close future.

On Thursday, Ahmad al-Jabouri, the governor of Salahuddin province, said the security officials and commanders of popular mobilization have informed him that the offensive of retaking Mosul will begin soon.

He stressed that "this notice has pushed the authorities of Salahuddin province to prepare the ground for receiving thousands of people expected to be displaced from the area.

Jabouri said that 20,000 families displaced from Shargat district are now settled in Salahuddin province, expecting over 400,000 other IDPs to arrive from the left coast of the city of Mosul upon the start of the military operation for liberating the city.

"The local government of the province of Salahuddin and its administrative units have made the necessary plans to receive the families anticipated to be displaced from areas on the left coast of Mosul," Jabouri said.

Jubouri added that the administration of the province has provided services for families recently displaced from Shargat district in Northern Salahuddin province, calling on humanitarian organizations and the federal government to support the province in assisting the Iraqi IDPs.
