Qalat Tubal is situated at the southern axis of Kinsibba, which is currently under the control of the terrorist rebels.
The capture of Qal’at Tubal gives the Syrian Armed Forces the high ground near Kinsibba; however, they will still need to seize the other hilltops surrounding the aforementioned town before they can fortify their positions.
Kinsibba was captured by the rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) last month after they launched a massive offensive in the northern Latakia countryside, Al Masdar reports.
As long as the rebels control Kinsibba, they will be able to launch missiles towards several government controlled villages in the Latakia Governorate, including the Bashar Al-Assad’s birthplace: Qurdaha.
