Official at the president's office said more than 50 military officers have been arrested in Istanbul and large crowds have carried out multiple citizen arrests.
Istanbul's Bosporus Bridge remained closed to traffic as dawn broke on Saturday morning, after an attempted military coup had closed the bridge overnight.
