The Syrian Army in a joint operation with Hezbollah fighters destroyed two water pump stations that were feeding ISIS bases in the Jarod al-Jarjeer region of the Qalamoun Mountains, a military source said.

“Syrian Army and Hezbollah forces were provided with intelligence reports on the location of these water pumping stations by their Russian advisers,” the source said.

The Syrian Army and its allies stepped up their military operations near the Qalamoun Mountains on Wednesday in order to counter the ISIL’s recent terrorist attacks at the Lebanese village of Jarod al- Qa’a.

Also on Monday, Syrian army aircraft targeted several water pumps and other water facilities used by the ISIL in Western Qalamoun at Lebanon-Syrian border, leaving the terrorists in the area facing with possible shortage of water.

Syrian fighter jets bombed the ISIL water facilities in al-Zamrani valley in Jarod al-Jarjeer, which not only destroyed the pumps and treatment and transferring facilities but ended in the killing or wounding of several ISIL members guarding there, FNA reported.
