ISIS is haemorrhaging money as Western airstrikes continue to blitz the terrorist group's oil fields, a top lawyer has said.
The crazed terrorists are now struggling to find the tens of millions of dollars it needs to keep its lucrative oil production going.
Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, who represents terror victims around the world, believes ISIS can only be defeated if the West continues to target its finances.
She told media: "The money was very big when ISIS started but today it's going down. Most their oil fields have been destroyed by airstrikes.
"ISIS controls some areas of Syria and Iraq, and to maintain them they need maybe tens of millions of dollars a month – maybe hundreds.
"But if you cut off their funding, they won't be able to continue controlling these areas or the people there. Money is the oxygen of terror.
"We already hear that ISIS has reduced the salary of its soldiers by 75 per cent – that's a major decrease.
"It will reduce the excitement of the soldiers or anyone thinking of joining them, whatever their motivations.
"The way you can really harm a terrorist group is by going after their money and assets. You can bankrupt them and shut them down."
Mrs Darshan-Leitner also claimed ISIS stores most of its cash in banks in Qatar and Turkey.
She said: "For years the Qatari banks for have been helping extreme terror organisations like Hamas, Boko Haram, the Al-Nusra Front, al-Qaeda and ISIS.
"And the Turkish government does not really care. Because they benefit from ISIS, they allow their banks to facilitate their transactions.", Express reported.
