Governor of Salahuddin, Ahmed Abdullah al-Jabouri said in a press statement, “The joint security forces, at dawn today, resumed the liberation operations of the areas towards north of the province.”
Jabouri added, “The liberation operations were launched with the participation of different Iraqi forces after besieging ISIS (ISIL, IS , Daesh and Islamic State) terrorist gangs at Makhoul, al-Sharqat and al-Qayyarah,” adding that, “The operations were launched days ago but it was stopped owing to bad weather conditions in the area.”
According to pictures released by FNA Iraqi army troops are preparing to move toward al-Shirqat in Salahuddin province.
Also Media officials with the Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that the security forces managed to liberate Muhammed al-Musa village, north of Salahuddin.
“Salahuddin Operations Command managed to fully liberate Muhammed al-Musa village situated towards the north of Salahuddin province,” adding that, “The command was also able to dismantle a network of mines and large explosives inside the village.”
