Haji Ali Mahir Akab Lihebi, an ISIS leading figure was killed on June 15, during an offensive conducted by the Iraqi troops from Regiment 91, consisting of Kurdish soldiers, against the ISIS militants in the areas near Makhmour frontline.
Lihebi was from Tal Rima village in Makhmour in northern Iraq and he had been appointed by ISIS to command the operations of the extremist group in Gwer-Makhmour frontline.
Iraqi troops have launched an extensive operation against ISIS near Makhmour in southern Mosul and have so far managed to recapture a large area from the group, ABNA reported.
