The nanny who decapitated a four-year-old girl and paraded her severed head around the streets while screaming will not face trial, according to sources close to the criminal investigation.
Gyulchekhra Bobokulova, 38, caged inside a psychiatric hospital at a Russian high security prison, will reportedly avoid trial because she is clinically insane.
Bobokulova, from Uzbekistan, pleaded guilty to murdering Nastya Meshcheryakova in February in revenge for Putin bombing Syria.
Experts at the Serbsky State Scientific Centre for Social and Forensic Psychiatry found the nanny is not fully responsible for her actions and murdered the child in a period of insanity.
A source close to the investigation told local media the psychiatric report will be handed over to prosecutors next week.
If Russian courts uphold the report and rule the mother-of-three insane she may escape criminal trial but is likely to remain locked up in a secure psychiatric hospital.
She is currently being held at the Butyrka detention facility in Moscow indwell remain there until at least May 29, after Judge Tereza Zhrebets extended her custody time.
At a hearing in Moscow she said: "The court ruled that the investigators’ request should be met and extended Bobokulova’s term in custody for a month [up to 3 months altogether] until May 29.
"Bobokulova may pose a threat to society if she is released.”
The nanny strangled the defenceless child before attacking her with a kitchen knife.
She then set the girl’s home on fire before police arrested her.
Horrific images of Bobokulova dressed in a burka and clutching the head of Nastya outside a metro station were seen around the world.
In a confession to camera she told Russian police she murdered the child in revenge for Russia bombing ISIS in Syria, Daily Mail reported.
