The Syrian Army troops and National Defense Forces, after hours of non-stop battle, pushed the ISIS back from more heights and lands in the Northwestern and Eastern countryside of Palmyra (Tadmur), military sources said minutes ago.
"The ISIS left behind scores of the dead and wounded members and pulled the remaining pockets of its forces back from the two strategic mountains of Antar and Zalfeh in the Northwestern side of Palmyra and vast farms in the Eastern side of the ancient city under the heavy offensives of the Syrian army and the popular forces," the sources said.
"The pro-government forces are now fortifying their positions across the newly-liberated heights and lands," they further added.
Also on Saturday, the Russian and Syrian Air Forces bombed the ISIS concentration centers near a town, a village and a mountain in Eastern Homs, slowing down the terrorist group's military movements.
The ISIS positions near the town of al-Sukhneh, the village of Arak and in the surroundings of Antar mountain came under the heavy bombardments of the Russian and Syrian warplanes.
The airstrikes claimed the lives of several ISIS terrorists and destroyed a number of their military-logistic vehicles, FNA reported.
