The opposition's move proved their lack of seriousness in reaching a political solution to the conflict gripping the Arab country, Syria's official news agency, SANA, quoted Mekdad as saying upon his arrival in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
He added that the opposition does not make its own decisions, as it holds allegiances, particularly to Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar.
Syria has been grappling with a deadly conflict it blames on some foreign states for more than five years. The militancy has left over 470,000 people dead so far, according to a February report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research.
