The Syrian army along with Liwaa Al-Quds (Jerusalem Brigade), the Republican Guard and the National Defense Forces (NDF) liberated another village from the ISIS hands in Khanaser Plains after advancing North from the recently captured city of Khanaser this morning.
According to a military source, the Syrian armed forces imposed full control over the village of al-Muqayrat after a violent battle with the ISIS near the strategic city of Khanaser.
The source added that several militants from the ISIS were killed during the successful military operations to liberate the village of al-Muqayrat, including several foreign fighters from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Chechnya, Lebanon, Malaysia and Pakistan.
With al-Muqayrat under their control, the Syrian forces and their allies have advanced towards the village of Hawaz, which was seized by the ISIS during their offensive just 48 hours ago.
Earlier today, the Syrian army units won back the strategic town of Khanaser, Southeast of Aleppo province, which was the scene of fierce battles in recent days.
The army's latest advance in Aleppo province was made after heavy clashes with the terrorist groups in the region.
Military sources said on Thursday that tens of terrorists were killed and several others were injured in the battle.
The Syrian army killed tens of Takfiri terrorists in a counter-offensive on the ISIS on Ithrya-Khanaser road on Wednesday.
The army's counter-offensive came after the ISIS tried to attack the army units' military positions along Ithrya-Khanaser road.
Heavy clashes are still underway in the surrounding areas of Khanaser town.
According to field sources, over 100 terrorists have been killed in the fierce clashes with the Syrian army and popular forces; FNA reported.
