Tahrir square in Cairo remains calm as Egyptians get ready to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the January 25 uprising that ended the 30-year reign of Hosni Mubarak.

Tahrir Square means Liberation Square, also known as "Martyr Square", is a major public town square in Downtown Cairo, Egypt. The square has been the location and focus for political demonstrations in Cairo, most notably those that led to the 2011 Egyptian revolution which led to the resignation of former dictator Hosni Mubarak.
