The Head of the Council Sabah al-Karhut said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The security forces have finished their preparations to break into Khalidiya Island and cleanse it from the ISIS terrorist gangs backed by the international coalition aviation during the next few days.”
Karhut added, “The cleansing battles are ongoing in the areas controlled by the ISIS organization, especially the regions of Juwaiba and Husaybah east of Ramadi,” indicating that, “Dozens of the ISIS fighters were killed and their strongholds were destroyed.”
“The security forces are working to evacuate the civilians from the clashes sites to an asylum in Amiriya Fallujah, Khalidiya District and Habaniya Touristic City, in addition to providing them with food and medical services,” Karhut continued.
