Army units, in cooperation with back-up forces, launched Monday morning a wide military operation from different axes on the hideouts and hotbeds of terrorist organizations in Khan al-Assal area, in the western countryside of Aleppo city, a military source told SANA on Monday.
The operation aims to establish control on the area located 20 km to the west of Aleppo and uproot terrorism from it, the source added.
Meanwhile, Field sources told SANA that terrorist organizations were inflicted heavy losses in personnel and equipment during the operation, pointing out that the southern entrance of Aleppo city became under the army’s fires.
The army, in cooperation with the back-up forces, carried out intensive operation using various arms on the terrorist organizations’ gatherings in al-Rashedeen area, west of Aleppo city.
Al-Zaitoun Height and Tuloul Hazmar under army control
Later in the day, army units, in cooperation with the back-up forces, established control over al-Zaitoun Height and Tuloul Hazmar west of Aleppo, the military source affirmed.
Earlier Sunday, a delegation from various mass media outlets, included reporters from 30 media outlets from Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Turkey, and Iran, visited al-Hadir town and number of villages in the southern countryside of Aleppo which the Syrian Army had re-established control over, and the reporters witnessed the destruction caused by the Takfiri terrorist organizations, and listened to the eyewitness accounts of locals who returned to their houses under the protection of the Syrian Army after years of displacement, telling the reporters about the crimes perpetrated.
On the other hand, the army , among other operations in Aleppo province on Sunday, destroyed positions and hotbeds for terrorist organizations in the village of al-Mansoura, 10 km west of Aleppo city.
Aisha village under army control
In the eastern countryside of the province, army units established control over Aisha village and the surrounding farms in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, after inflicting heavy losses upon the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization in personnel and equipment.
Field sources told SANA Monday that the army clashed with the ISIS terrorists, destroying their fortifications and tunnels and inflicting heavy losses upon them.
The sources added that the army combed the village and dismantled scores of the explosive devices planted by the ISIS terrorists, killing a number of its members, while the rest fled away; SANA reported.
