“For the first step we produced 160 tons of heavy water and 130 tons of the total amount will remain in the reservoirs until the reactor activation time and the remained 30 tons are supposed to be sold on the basis of JCPOA agreement, the Head of IAEA declared to Alalam correspondent.
"Salehi asserted, we even have a suggestion to exchange the heavy water with natural uranium if there was any money to pay, like our fuel exchange with Russia."
He added, “there is no difference which country to buy the heavy water, however US must be our costumer in this way because most of the purchases in the world done by US. We suggested them to pay money or to exchange it with natural uranium or yellow cake.”
The Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Akbar Salehi
Ali Akbar Salehi said, “the framework of JOCPA is the Iranians main criteria to fulfill its obligations as stipulated in JCPOA.” The main question if this case could make a problem between Iran and the P5+1 group agreement? The answer is NO.
He expressed Iran’s readiness to carry out the actions in the shortest time possible urging the other side to fulfill their commitments as well including the lifting of US and EU economic sanctions, IAEA head asserted to Alalam Network Channel.
Salehi continued, “After the adoption of the resolution, we have begun taking some measures like disabling a number of centrifuges at Natanz and Fordow sites end in two weeks.”
He further asserted “the disabled centrifuges have been removed and the active ones which count to slightly more than nine thousand will continue their activities which marks an important part of the arrangements.”
Salehi estimated that the fulfillment of steps will be done after the adoption of the IAEA resolution and must take three weeks after the adoption. “The unpredictable events in the process might add two more weeks to the time period,” Head of IAEA added.
Salehi asked about the nuclear cooperation with other countries announced, “Countries with nuclear technology like South Korea, Japan and the European countries have expressed willingness to cooperate with Iran in the field, as well as China which intended to build nuclear plants in the country.”
The Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency has terminated the interview with Alalam Network Channel Correspondent by responding to a question about the situation in case the US fails to meet its obligations, he declared, “in that case, US will lose out since IAEA has announced that Iran never sought nuclear weapons as well as that the information received by the Agency in 2003 have been unfounded.”
