According to Lebanon official news agency the convoy of the 16 released soldiers from Nusra Front Terrorist Group Captivity is currently heading to Beirut.
Later a deal is completed to free 16 Lebanese security personnel held captive by the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front since 2014.
Al-Qaeda's Syrian wing, the Nusra Front, releases Lebanese security personnel held captive since August, 2014 in a swap deal that will also release an ex-wife of so-called “Islamic State” Head Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Based on the reports prisoner swap between the Nusra Front and the Lebanese authorities was successfully completed on Tuesday (December 01), after 16 Lebanese soldiers and policemen were released by the al Qaeda-linked group, a security source told Reuters and Lebanon National News Agency correspondent also eported that the convoy of the 16 released soldiers is heading to Beirut.
Live TV footage showed some of the Lebanese men climbing inside a Red Cross van.
A total of 16 Lebanese soldiers and policemen were released under the Qatari-mediated deal, in addition to 13 extremist Islamist prisoners including Saja al-Dulaimi, the ex-wife of Baghdadi.
