Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Muscat early Thursday. During the visit, the two sides called for a political settlement of the Syrian crisis and discussed efforts made for holding the Vienna talks on Syria crisis.
Talking to IRNA before departing Beirut for Muscat, Amir-Abdollahian said that on the third leg of his regional tour in Muscat he will meet Omani officials to discuss issues of mutual interest and regional developments in Syria, Yemen and Palestine.
Amir-Abdollahian, speaking to Lebanon's Al Mayadeen TV, has expressed uncertainties about the presence of Iran in the upcoming international talks on the crisis in Syria.
Reuters quoted the Iranian diplomat as saying that Iran's participation in the next ministerial meeting in Vienna would depend on Washington's response on some unilateral actions taken by the parties attending the talks without consulting others.
Amir-Abdollahian reiterated that during the past week certain countries, including the US, are taking unilateral steps in order to impose their ideas at the upcoming Vienna summit; IRNA reported.
