7,500 Kurdish forces launched an offensive on Thursday to retake the northern Iraqi town of Sinjar from ISIS terrorist who overran it morethan a year ago, killing and enslaving thousands of its Yazidi residents. Sinjar lies strategically on road linking Mosul and Raqqa.
