The Saudi-led forces in the Central Yemeni city of Marib were suppressed by Ansarullah fighters’ massive missile and artillery fire and are reportedly grounded.
Reports said on Wednesday tha the massive fire power of the Yemeni army and popular forces has prevented the fall of Marib into the hands of the Saudis who are seeking use the towns as a platform to initiate a massive attack on the capital city of Sana'a.
Reports mentioned that the Yemeni troops' missile and rocket attacks have inflicted heavy casualties and damage on the Saudi-led coalition ground forces.
According to al-Akhbar newspaper, the Yemeni forces' missile power has forced the Saudi-led coalition to deploy Patriot missiles in Safer region in Marib which was the scene of a large death toll among the Saudi-led forces in a single missile attack of the Yemenis early in September.
Some 300 coalition troops, including tens of UAE, Bahraini and Saudi soldiers, were killed in that single missile attack on the Saudi-led coalition forces' base in Safer region early this month.
Also on Sunday, Ansarullah forces stopped the invasion of the Saudi-backed militants affiliated to fugitive president Mansour Hadi into Marib.
The militants, backed by the Saudi-led coalition troops sought to advance towards Hamma al-Masaria region in Marib but Ansarullah forces prevented them from entering the region, al-Mayadeen news channel reported on Sunday.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 175 days now to restore power to Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 5,933 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
