Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Head of Switzerland's Humanitarian Aid Unit Manuel Bessler met on Friday and jointly called for immediate release of humanitarian aid to Syria.
Amir-Abdollahian and Bessler called for boost of anti-terrorism efforts and asserted that the current actions against extremists were not adequate, Mehr News reported.
The two officials discussed latest developments in Syria and Yemen and stressed resolution of Syrian crisis through dialogue. They also urged continuation of political approach for choosing Lebanon's next president.
During the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian urged halt of airstrikes against Yemen and called for removal of this region's blockade.
He called Iran's proposal for resolution of Yemen crisis, 'an important initiation based on realities on the ground.'
