Nouri al-Maliki in his exclusive interview with Al Alam News Network Said: the fall of Mosul was Kurdish & regional conspiracy in which both domestic and international hands were involved. He mentioned that the main reason for the fall of Mosul was the security and military commander’s escape form the battle ground while they had enough military forces and weapons to fight Daesh.

The Commander of the fourth division had played role in the fall of Mosul

The former Iraqi Prime Minister added that the commander of the forth division who is a Kurd left the division and Daesh entered Tikrit and the “Aspayker Crime” happened because the commander of Fourth division retreated and the division collapsed.

Maliki added that the police chief must also take the responsibility because he did not even fire a bullet while he had 40,000 police under his command.

Maliki mentioned that Sunnis, because of the influence of the members of Ba'ath party and officials of Governor, and council of province, had received order for retreat. That’s why 80 to 85 percent of the army retreated at the same time. police did not show reaction well because they were the supporters of the governor.
