Addressing the eighth General Assembly of Islamic Radios and TVs Union (IRTVU) in Tehran, Sheikh Qassem said that the resistance movement has spread to different regions and is confronting global Zionism today.

The Hezbollah official further highlighted the achievements of the Islamic Resistance in the past ten years, saying that the movement managed to defeat the Zionist regime in the 33-day war of 2006.

Foiling the Takfiri plot to occupy Syria and rendering the United States’ ‘greater Middle East’ plan void were the other accomplishments of the resistance, he went on to say.

Attended by 220 TV and radio channels from 35 countries, the eighth General Assembly of IRTVU started work on Sunday in the Iranian capital.

A Media Technology Exhibition was also opened on the sidelines of the General Assembly.

The motto of the gathering is “Prophet of Mercy; Mission of Resistance Media”.

The 7th general assembly of the union was held in Tehran in May 2014 under the motto of ‘Awakening Media Outlets, Voice of Resistance and Confrontation with Religious Sedition.’
