The commander of the seventh division of the Iraqi army, Maj. Gen. Abdul-Zobaie Naumann, announced the escape of dozens of Arab and foreign senior commanders from Anbar to Nineveh province and Syria because of refraction in their ranks and the advance of the Iraqi security forces.
Zobaie said in an interview for IraqiNews.com: “dozens of ISIS leaders in Anbar fled to the province of Nineveh and the city of Raqqa in Syria across the desert.”
Zobaie said: “large fractures in ISIS ranks, as well as large losses of lives and equipment pushed ISIS leaders to escape,” adding that, “there is a significant progress for the security forces in Anbar.”
