Meeting Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan, Ali-Akbar Velayati exchanged ideas on regional issues of bilateral interests and Iran-Russia ties on Monday.
On Syrian crisis, Velayati criticized west's categorization of terrorism in Syria into moderate and extremist calling it a ridiculous game to provide the pretext for supporting Takfiris against the legitimate president of the country.
Elaborating on his remarks, the head of Strategic Research Center of Expediency Council reiterated that he saw no difference between terrorists, as all of them were similarly dangerous and harmful.
“We believe that in addition to ISIS Takfiri group now being supported by the Zionist regime, the US and other particular countries in the region, all should firmly fight any type of extremism and terrorist activities,” he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Velayati said all-out relations and cooperation between Iran and Russia is of prime importance.
Russian ambassador, for his part, briefed Valayati on current cooperation between the two countries and underlined the need for joint campaign against the Takfiri terrorist groups.
