Syrian army troops and Kurdish fighters made great advances against the ISIS terrorists in the strategic city of Hasakah, Al-Alam News Network reports.
Reports said on Sunday that the ISIS terrorist group is being cornered to two small areas in the city.
“The army and national forces are in the final stage of being able to declare Hasakah city fully secure,” said the governor of the al-Hasakah Governorate.
Kurdish forces assisted the Syrian army in securing control of the Western al-Nashwa area of the city.
Residents who fled the fighting began returning to neighborhoods that were taken back from ISIS.
ISIS began its assault on Hasakah on June 25, seizing several neighborhoods before Syrian and national forces began fighting back and making considerable gains.
