Syrian army has gained the upper hand over ISIL and is pushing back ISIL takfiri terrorists form Northern Hasaka province, Al-Alam News Network reports.
The sources said that scores of the ISIL fighters, who have fled from al-Villat al-Homr and other areas, are positioning in Ghweiran neighborhood in Hasaka city that is also surrounded by the Syrian army.
The sources added that at least 12 ISIL fighters have thus far been killed by the army men in Ghweiran, including several snipers.
On Sunday, the ISIL terrorists suffered heavy losses in Hasaka as the Syrian army continued to advance against the Takfiri militants.
The army forces clashed with the ISIL terrorists near a cemetery in the Southeastern side of Ghweiran neighborhood in Hasaka city.
Sporadic clashes also broke out between the army and ISIL terrorists on the outskirts of the neighborhoods of al-Nashwa al-Gharbiyeh and al-Nashwa Villat and the youth housing compound.
The terrorists suffered heavy losses during the clashes, according to the sources.
