In footage obtained by the Associated Press, fighters can be seen firing rockets at ISIS targets across fields in Salahuddin province.
Some parts of Salahuddin province are still under the control of ISIS terrorists who seized some parts in the northern and western Iraq in a blitz last summer.
Some positions and villages have been retaken by Shiite fighters, said one of the senior fighters who asked for anonymity for security reasons.
The villages and positions in Salahuddin province are 55 kilometres north of Baghdad.
