Speaking at a joint meeting of the administration and the parliament in Tehran on Sunday evening, President Rouhani underlined that the nuclear talks is an issue relating to the country in its entirety.

“We hope that we will reach the acceptable and pleasing result while restoring the nation’s rights and fulfilling the country’s interests with the help of the parliament and support of the people,” he noted.

Describing the nuclear talks as one of Iran’s most important diplomatic negotiations, President Rouhani gave an assurance that the country’s negotiators are sticking to the frameworks defined by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

“Such a great task has been done and will continue to be carried out within the framework of the guidelines given by the Supreme Leader, the Supreme National Security Council and the Constitution,” the president stressed.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) are negotiating to hammer out a lasting accord that would end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's civilian nuclear program.

On April 2, the two sides reached a framework nuclear agreement in Lausanne, Switzerland, with both sides committed to push for a final deal until the end of June.
