Syrian army troops regained full control of an airbase in southern Sweida province on Friday, a day after rebels overran large parts of it, Al-Alam chief of office in Syria Hossein Mortada reports.
Rebels from the Southern Front alliance withdrew from the Al-Thalaa base under heavy fire of Syrian Army and popular forces.
Syrian state television denied claims by rebels that they had taken over an army airport in southern Syria along the border with Jordan on Thursday.
A news flash said the army had so far repelled three attacks on the outskirts of the Al-Thala airport.
