On April 20, 2015, the twin strikes by Saudi warplanes triggered massive blasts tat razed nearby houses and shook faraway districts.
The site has been attacked several times during the four-week Saudi air campaign, with a Yemeni official saying that the air raids are destroying parts of the mountain.
The explosions shattered the windows and sent clouds of smoke into the sky, besides causing huge damage to the area.
Saudi Arabia’s air campaign against Yemen started on March 26 - without a United Nations mandate - in a bid to restore power to the country’s fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.
According to reports, at least 2,680 people, including women and children, have so far lost their lives in the attacks.
