Iran’s president leaves Tehran for Indonesia

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday departed for the Indonesian city of Bandung to take part in an event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference.

Rouhani is making the visit at the official invitation of his Indonesian counterpart.

He plans to hold separate meetings with leaders of a number of participating states as well as a number of scholars, Islamic thinkers, and university professors in Indonesia.

Also in his visit, Rouhani will meet Indonesian entrepreneurs and businessmen, and will also take part in a meeting to discuss regional issues with member states of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The twenty-five countries that participated at the Bandung Conference represented nearly one-quarter of the Earth's land surface and a total population of 1.5 billion people.
