A video the hackers posted on Al-Alam's YouTube account featured a song in praise of Saudi King Salman.

Hackers took over social media accounts of Iran’s Al-Alam television on Sunday, posting material supportive of the Saudi-led air war against Yemen.

Press TV wrotes: In a premeditated move, Saudi hackers posted fabricated news on the homepage of al-Alam Twitter account about the killing of Leader of Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and Ahmed Ali, son of the former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh, in an air raid.

Al-Alam's professional activities regarding Saudi Arabia's aggression of Yemen in recent weeks have caused the Saudis to be greatly furious with this network.

Saudi Arabia’s air campaign against Yemen started on March 26 without a UN mandate in a bid to restore power to Yemen’s former fugitive president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. 

According to sources close to the ruling Ansarullah movement, at least a thousand people, including 200 children, have been killed in Yemen since the beginning of Saudi aggression. 

The relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia has become sore recently following the air strikes by the Saudi-led coalition on Shiite Houthis in Yemen who had made significant advancements to control major cities in the country recently and sexual assault to two Iranian youth pilgrims which caused foreign Ministry summoned Saudi Arabia charge d'affaires late on Wednesday to protest against baseless allegation made by the Saudi military spokesman.

Also Iranian protestors gathered in front of the Saudi mission in Tehran on Saturday to condemn the Saudi police's aggressive acts against the Iranian pilgrims, including the sexual abuse of two juniors and air campaign against Yemen.

On Thursday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that the Saudi-led coalition has committed a big "mistake" in bombing Yemen.

The Iranian leader compared the Saudi-led raid on Yemen to the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in the past, saying that this action is "a crime and genocide which can be prosecuted internationally."

The Saudis and its allies in the Persian Gulf region have accused the Islamic republic of arming and financing the Houthis, which have been denied by the Iranian authorities

Reuters said: Al Alam has covered the crisis in Yemen since Saudi Arabia and Arab allies launched air strikes against the Shi'ite Houthi movement this month.

The station was taken off the air by Arab satellite operators based in Egypt and Saudi Arabia in November.
