Iraqi warplanes hit a gathering of top ISIS commanders in the Western province of Anbar, leaving several terrorists dead and wounded, a military source said.

According to a statement issued by Iraq's Ministry of Defense, the fighter jets bombarded the meeting of the ISIS leaders on the back of information gained via an intelligence operation conducted by the Iraqi military at Al-Qa'im near the Syrian border at 11:25 a.m. Thursday.

Yesterday media outlets reporting a number of prominent ISIS operatives were killed in intensive air-strikes by the US-led coalition against the terrorist group in the Iraqi town of al-Qaim near the Syrian border.

It was not clear if ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was injured in the strikes, however he reportedly was en route to the area.
